Community Guidelines

Standards of conduct that ensure AA-DBA-UAP remains a respectful, professional, and thriving network.

These guidelines apply to all members, honorary members, and guests participating in association activities — whether in person, online, or through official communications. Adherence ensures that our community remains a trusted space for professional growth and lifelong connection.

Membership Conduct

  • Treat all fellow alumni, students, faculty, and staff with courtesy and respect.
  • Refrain from any form of discrimination based on gender, religion, ethnicity, political view, or socioeconomic status.
  • Represent the association and UAP with integrity in professional and personal settings.
  • Membership privileges may be suspended for conduct deemed harmful to the association's reputation.

Events & Gatherings

  • Register for events in advance through official channels; last-minute walk-ins are subject to seat availability.
  • Arrive on time; late entry may be restricted during formal proceedings.
  • Photography and recording during events is permitted unless explicitly prohibited by organizers.
  • Disruptive behavior, including intoxication or harassment, will result in immediate removal.

Mentorship & Networking

  • Alumni mentors commit to at least one session per quarter with assigned mentees.
  • Sharing job leads and professional opportunities within the network is strongly encouraged.
  • Do not solicit current students or junior alumni for personal financial gain.
  • Respect confidentiality when members share professional or personal challenges.

Digital & Social Media

  • Do not impersonate the association or use its name/logo without written authorization.
  • Refrain from sharing internal communications, member directories, or event details publicly without approval.
  • Online interactions in association groups should remain constructive and harassment-free.
  • Report any misuse of the association's digital platforms to the executive committee.

Grievance & Dispute Resolution

  • Disputes between members should first be addressed through direct, respectful dialogue.
  • Unresolved conflicts may be escalated to the Ethics and Grievance Sub-committee.
  • All complaints will be handled with confidentiality and investigated impartially.
  • The executive committee's decision on disciplinary matters is final.

Awards & Recognition

  • Nominations for annual awards must be submitted by the published deadline.
  • Self-nominations are not accepted; endorsement by at least two active members is required.
  • Awardees are expected to attend the ceremony or send a representative.
  • Past recipients may not be re-nominated in the same category within five years.
